Ulta-sound Harmless sound waves used to gain an image of breast lumps, often in younger women who
have dense breasts so that mammography is less useful. Very good at showing up cysts
Virginal Hypertrophy Normal breast development that occurs around puberty; may be asymmetrical and can sometimes cause abnormally large breasts in adolescent girls, which may cause embarrassment and discomfort. There is no increased risk of cancer
X-ray examinations A doctor looks for lumps using X-rays which take pictures of the inside of the breast; mammography
